I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 27, 2017
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Received a note from the Elbon Shrine Club asking to reserve Duda Garden on June 10, 2017, for their Annual Wing Cook-Off. They are also requesting to have the park rental fee waived.
Received a letter from Zion Lutheran Early Childhood Education Center requesting to
block the streets and intersections bordering Zion Lutheran School (Wood, Henry,
Hoxsey and Panhorst) from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Friday June 2, 2017. They are also asking the City to provide barricades. This is to allow the day care students to ride their bicycles around the school.

PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY -
Motion by Plenske, seconded by Bodner to grant request from the Zion Early
Childhood Education Center to block the streets and intersections bordering Zion
Lutheran School from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Friday June 2, 2017, with the City
providing barricades. Ayes: Birdsell, Sievers, Kolkovich, Plenske, Pritchett,
Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –
Motion by Scanzoni, seconded by Bodner to advertise hiring two part time employees for the Park & Recreation Department. Ayes: Sievers, Kolkovich, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Birdsell. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
Motion by Scanzoni, seconded by Bodner to grant request from the Elbon Shrine Club to reserve Duda Garden on June 10, 2017, with the park rental fee being waived. Ayes: Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Birdsell, Sievers. Nayes: Kolkovich. Absent: None. Motion carried 7 Ayes; 1 Naye.
FINANCE–
Motion by Pritchett, seconded by Birdsell to accept three year audit bid from Kerber, Eck & Braeckel (1st year $7,500, 2nd year $7,700 and 3rd year &7,900). Ayes: Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Birdsell, Sievers, Kolkovich. Nayes: None. Motion carried.
UTILITIES-
No discussion or action was taken on the Invoice from Ameren Illinois for Damage Billing from a sewer repair at 408 West Pearl Street in the amount of $951.70.

JUDICIARY—
Motion by Birdsell, seconded by Bodner to approve Ordinance #1884 Annexing Certain Territory To The City Of Staunton, Macoupin County, Illinois (Part of the larger parcels: 01-000-326-00 and 01-000-296-00 / Janus Property). Ayes: Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Birdsell, Plenske. Nayes: Kolkovich, Sievers. Absent: None. Motion carried 6 Ayes; 2 Nayes.
City Clerk Stiegemeier stated that Don Janus had been to the City Hall office earlier today and asked him to express thanks from the Janus family to Mayor Neuhaus for all of his work in getting the annexation issues taken care of regarding the Janus property. This was greatly appreciated by the Janus family.

XI. NEW BUSINESS-
Mayor Neuhaus thanked Corrie, Ashton and Brooklyn Rizzi; Jamie, Livia and Wesley
Crouch; Sandy and Reese Bohlen; Cason Kapp and Jillian Meyer for picking up trash
at the south entrance to town (near the Alco building). This act of community pride
is greatly appreciated.
